$5950.00

This exquisite vintage oil painting showcases Jeremiah, the prophet, enveloped by an enchanting and imaginative landscape. The artist's masterful attention to detail and the vivid, dynamic colors infuse the scene with life and emotion, making it an extraordinary and captivating piece of art. Measuring 18 x 24  inches, this unique artwork is sure to become a beloved focal point in any collection .  This rendering is titled "The Dichotomy", because it represents the division between choosing the grace of God, versus choosing what delights self, which are at opposite ends.  Here is my study compositon inspired by Rembrandt's rendering from 1632, which portrays Jeremiah, the prophet lamenting over the word that he had received from God warning King Zedekiah to repent of his evil ways and the evil ways that Israel had turned away from following God's commands.  Here you see the lure of the gold and silver, while the prophet rests on the Holy Bible, while a depiction of the fulfillment of Jeremiah's prophecy being fulfilled, with Jerusalem and the temple being destroyed by fire.  The Dichotomy is a good reminder to us all to truly walk in the ways of the Lord, and not satisfy the desires of our flesh.
